The undeniable star of this year’s Ducati stand at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show 2009 (27th November – 6th December at the Birmingham NEC) is the eagerly awaited Ducati Multistrada 1200, a true Ducati in style, design and advanced technology - derived directly from Ducati’s racing experience on MotoGP and World Superbike tracks across the globe. The Multistrada 1200 has become one of the most discussed new bikes even before its world launch earlier this week in Milan. It is a bike with the emphasis on ‘multi’ – four bikes in one, with four different riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. Ducati have combined power and torque delivery with suspension settings and traction control that can be altered even while riding. Faithful to the original intuition, which combined sport bike technology with comfort and versatility, Ducati has extended the concept further with the brand new Multistrada 1200 designed to satisfy the demands of all motorcyclists.

The NEC Show remains the UK’s premier Show for all manufacturers to unveil their bikes to the UK audience and Ducati have chosen it as the platform to also unveil the Hypermotard 796. The bike is as aggressively striking as the 1100 model but portrays a milder manner with a lower seat height, a flexible 81hp engine and an overall weight of 167kg.

Debbie Wiggins, Marketing and Events Manager at Ducati said: “Ducati have once again pushed the limits of motorcycle design by adding Italian innovation to the elegance, style and technology which characterise the motorcycles that leave the Bologna factory. We remain excited about launching the bikes to the UK market and believe the NEC Show is the best platform for this.” Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, added: “We are as excited as the rest of the visitors to have these eagerly awaited bikes unveiled to the UK for the first time at the Show. Ducati’s stable of new bikes will undoubtedly cause quite a stir here if their world launch in Milan this week is anything to go by!”
